What can fans make of the Las Vegas Raiders‘ 1-4 start to the 2022 NFL season?
From another perspective, they could easily be a 5-0 team because all their losses came within one possession.
However, a bitter defeat still does not count as a win.
Therefore, the Raiders have difficulty in closing out games, and that reality came into display during their Week 5 Monday Night Football game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Raiders failed to protect a 17-point lead and scored only nine points in the second half.
Likewise, this fan summarized what went wrong for Las Vegas.
#RaiderNation Bad coaching. Goings for 1 would have tied. Could have run there too. Terrible OL play. Coaches rotating OL didn't work again.
No one attempted to stop Kelce.
But Raiders played well. Y'all can hate on Carr all you want. But I ain't got time for that. 🏴☠️

All of Patrick Mahomes‘ four touchdown passes went to Travis Kelce, who finished with 25 receiving yards.
The Raiders also had time to work with after Davante Adams‘ second touchdown catch, and an extra point would have been enough.
Still, it does not change the fact that the team has underachieved five games into the 2022 NFL season.
It’s hard to believe that a team with Adams, Derek Carr, Hunter Renfrow, and Josh Jacobs has only one victory.
Raiders is 1-4 wit all that talent🤣

The Balance Of Power Has Shifted
This football fan made an interesting observation on how the current season has unfolded.
Eagles 5-0
Giants 4-1
Vikings 4-1…
Rams 2-3
Bengals 2-3
Steelers 1-4
Raiders 1-3Who would've expected THIS at the beginning of the season?!

If things quickly change in the NFL, the Raiders have an opportunity to turn their fortunes around.
However, that positive shift must start with improving their defense.
Raiders through 5 weeks:
1-4 Record
8th ranked Offense (25 PPG)
28th ranked defense (26 PPG)Point Differential: -5
Carr has to be cursed to never have a good defense. At least we paid Maxx, so he’s not going anywhere…

The Raiders will have a bye in Week 6 before facing the Houston Texans a week later.
Therefore, Josh McDaniels will have much time to fix the loopholes on that side of the ball.
With 12 games left on their schedule, the Raiders can start stringing more victories to earn their second straight playoff berth.
Raiders have a real shot of being 7-4 in this next stretch 🤷🏻♂️ best 1-4 team I’ve ever seen. Why the hell not

But if they don’t, the front office may hand out some pink slips.
