There is an endless array of debates in the NFL.
Football fans and experts often engage in conversations regarding the best players at a certain position or of all time.
Television analysts engage in this kind of talk because it is good airtime.
There’s also an ongoing Twitter debate regarding which career would fans rather have.
Julien Edelman career earnings: $46,021,530
Larry Fitzgerald career earnings:
$180,757,239 https://t.co/wRBKwWcJXC— Theo Ash (@TheoAshNFL) June 12, 2022
Pro Football Focus wanted to know if people would rather have the career of Julian Edelman who won two Super Bowls as a role player for the New England Patriots.
On the other hand, there’s Larry Fitzgerald who hasn’t won a title but is a surefire inductee to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Fitzgerald did come close to having a Vince Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLIII against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Ben Roethlisberger threaded the needle to find Santonio Holmes at the far corner of the end zone for the winning touchdown.
It seems like the fans have unanimously decided that they’d rather have Fitzgerald’s career thanks to the landslide victory of likes over retweets.
Furthermore, NFL TikTok thought leader Theo Ash might have settled the conversation for good by comparing the career earnings of both players.
Edelman earned over $46 million and pocketed some bonuses for the Super Bowl victories.
Still, those incentives are not enough to catch Fitzgerald’s $180.7 million in career earnings.
Fans Are Being Practical
Fitzgerald is an obvious choice for several reasons.
First, he is a way better player than Edelman and will be immortalized in Canton, Ohio when he is eligible.
Second, the fortune that Fitzgerald amassed is hard to turn down.
Third, several great players in the NFL also fell short of winning the Super Bowl.
Even then, losing the big game did not water down their phenomenal accomplishments.
