On Thursday night, Saddiq Bey of the Detroit Pistons was just the latest NBA star to score more than 50 points.
The prized Pistons player put up 51 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 three-pointers in a career-high night that shocked his team – and the rest of the league.

Bey’s big night comes hot on the heels of other guys in the league – LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Jayson Tatum, and Karl-Anthony Towns – also scoring more than 50 points over the last couple of weeks.
Scoring 50 is the new NBA fad and it seems like everyone is trying to be a part of it.
Bey is definitely the least well-known of those NBA stars so his epic game was met with a lot of praise, surprise, and excitement onTwitter.
The NBA world was on fire for Bey and his historic evening.
WHAT?!
A lot of people on the internet were shocked by Bey’s 50-point game.
They weren’t shocked because Bey scored so many points but were instead surprised by how many 50-plus games have been delivered from NBA stars lately.
It seems like we can’t go a single day without someone else in the association dropping 50.
Wait….Saddiq Bey did WHAT!? 50 Bombs just flying in March My goodness.

Meanwhile, some people really were out there celebrating Bey – especially Pistons fans who have long known just how talented and special this young man is.
If Bey wasn’t well known by people before, he will be now and his supporters were cheering him on in a big, big way.

Finally, some people focused on the most heart-warming aspect of Bey’s game.
After the celebration ended, Bey said that he was planning to give the game ball to his biggest supporter: his mom.
#Pistons Saddiq Bey said he'll probably give the game ball to his mom, who texted him this morning to tell him to be more aggressive.

Bey’s 50-point game won’t be the last one in the NBA but that doesn’t mean it’s not super special.
