Sure enough, Bey was on fire Thursday night and joined a growing list of players who are breaking the stunning 50-point threshold.
A career night for Saddiq Bey:

In a 134-120 victory over the Orlando Magic, Bey went off and scored a career-high 51 points.
Bey landed 17-of-27 field goals and also sank 10-of-14 three-pointers, which ties a franchise record.
With his powerful showing, he becomes the first Pistons player since Blake Griffin to score more 50 or more points.
Is there something in the water in NBA locker rooms lately?
Scoring 50 points in an NBA game isn’t easy and that’s why you don’t see it that often.
So far this season, there have been 17 50-point games.
Bey is the 13th player to pull off the remarkable feat and is now the younger player in Pistons’ history to achieve it.
Before Thursday night, Bey’s biggest game featured him scoring 34 points but he left that in the dust with his new record.
Despite Bey’s great showing and some promising young players, the Pistons are still floundering towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
They are 14th seed right now with a record of 19-51.
In other words, their season will come to an end in a few weeks when the regular season concludes.
They will miss the playoffs again this year but if the team has more showings like this from Bey next season, perhaps they will stick around longer.
