Multiple NBA teams have struggled this year, but few have had it as bad as the New Orleans Pelicans.
The team cannot seem to catch a break and their track record reflects that.
According to Legion Hoops, the Pelicans have lost 19 of their last 21 games.
Because of that, they hold a dreadful 5-22 record, which is the worst in the Western Conference.
Few people thought things would be this bad for New Orleans in 2024–25.

It’s shocking to see the Pelicans perform so poorly because they have boatloads of talent in their lineup.
The problem is that they can’t stay healthy this year.
The team’s injury list currently features Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Jordan Hawkins, Jose Alvarado, and more.
And that list is shorter than it was just a few weeks ago when Dejounte Murray and CJ McCollum were also out of commission.
The team has been hobbling along since the start of the season after Murray exited the first game with a serious hand injury.
Since then, things have gone from bad to worse for the Pelicans.
At this point, it’ll take a remarkable turnaround for the Pelicans to be in contention for the playoffs.
In all likelihood, any chance of that happening is gone, and New Orleans should instead be contemplating what will happen next season.
Now there are many rumors about the team’s front office shaking things up, making big trades, and possibly blowing up the team.
Losing 19 out of 21 games is never a good thing, and it’s a sign of just how tough things are for New Orleans this year.
But how will the team respond, and what will this roster look like when the season ends?
