What the heck happened to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night?
That is what people across the league are asking today, after the Heat got positively destroyed by the Detroit Pistons, 116-96.
Not did the Heat get routed by a 6-19 Pistons team without Cade Cunningham, but they did so at home in Miami.
Ouch.
"It might be time to break the team up and start over."

The pitiful and surprising loss is having some wonder out loud about the future of the team.
Charles Barkley was quite frank about his opinion, saying, “It might be time to break the team up and start over.”
Barkley thinks the best approach is to dismantle the team, trade away the assets they have, and start over from the bottom.
He isn’t alone, either.
There are now multiple people thinking that this is the right next step for the Heat.
The Heat Are Hurting
The Heat are currently the 11th team in the East with an 11-14 record.
This is not what Miami was expecting for the 2022-23 season.
The team still has its biggest stars: Jimmy Butler (who was out on Tuesday with an injury), Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Max Strus, and more.
In fact, they even have Victor Oladipo back on Tuesday after an extensive injury and absence.
Still, it’s not enough and the team can’t seem to get a good rhythm going, repeatedly losing games they should have triumphed in.
What are the chances of the Heat blowing up and starting over?
Right now, it’s not a strong possibility but something does have to change.
If the season ends as it has started, don’t be shocked if the Heat make some shocking changes, perhaps trading some of their biggest names or even relieving head coach Erik Spoelstra of his duties.
The team just can’t go on like this.
