The Boston Celtics haven’t made many changes in the summer, deciding to mostly stick with the same lineup they had last year.
That makes sense: the team made it all the way to the NBA Finals last season because of the power of their squad.
However, there have been some minor tweaks and a few new additions.
And now it sounds like there could be someone leaving the team soon.
The Boston Celtics are unlikely to sign Grant Williams to a contract extension, per @JakeLFischer

It is being reported that Grant Williams will not receive a contract extension from the reigning Eastern Conference champions.
Jake Fischer said, “There does not seem to be an extension coming for forward Grant Williams, sources said.”
What does that mean for his future: will he be sticking around with the Celtics?
Williams On The Move?
Williams was set to earn $4.3 million this year.
However, without a contract extension from Boston, the team could extend a $6.2 million offer to make him a restricted free agent in the summer of 2023.
This will, of course, let Boston match any team that offers a deal for Williams but it could also make him a hot commodity on the trade market.
Williams has been one of the strongest bench players for the team over his few years in Boston.
It would make sense for the team to try to keep him where he’s at.
At the same time, you have to consider everything from a financial perspective too.
They don’t dislike Williams but are they willing to spend the cash to keep him around, especially with the contracts of Jaylen Brown and Al Horford also needing extensions soon too?
Right now, Williams isn’t set to get his extension from Boston.
That doesn’t mean he is necessarily leaving the team but it certainly opens the door.
