In the aftermath of longtime general manager Bob Myers leaving the Golden State Warriors, the future of the storied franchise was up in the air, with no one really knowing where veteran forward Draymond Green would land when he hit free agency this summer.
Although the Warriors were the favorites to sign him, and understandably so, there was still some considerable doubt, with talk of the team potentially not wanting to pay him what he wants and other teams swooping in to grab him.
All that speculation came to an end on Friday the minute NBA free agency got underway, with Shams Charania of The Athletic reporting that Green has agreed to a four-year contract with the team.
Free agent Draymond Green and CEO of Klutch Sports Rich Paul have agreed on a four-year, $100 million contract to return to the Golden State Warriors, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The $100M deal contains a player option in Year 4.

With Green agreeing to a new long-term deal with Golden State, the Warriors dynasty has a chance to stay alive a little while longer, with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson still in the fold and seemingly in the team’s plans moving forward.
Along with re-signing Green, the Warriors recently traded guard Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul, which is perhaps the most surprising move of the summer thus far.
Poole and Green had an altercation before the start of the season, which many believe derailed their title defense before it began.
It’ll be interesting to see how this veteran team puts it together next season and if the Warriors can become legitimate title contenders in the Western Conference once with a chance to hang a fifth championship banner at the Chase Center in the Curry era.
