The New York Knicks have been on a tear lately and have been putting the rest of the Eastern Conference on notice.
They have had some important wins and painful losses all season long but they have lately been performing like a team that is focused, connected, and working in perfect tandem.
This is how they will need to play if they wish to make it far into the postseason.

While Jalen Brunson’s new team has been thriving, his old team has been struggling.
As pointed out by NBA insider Tim MacMahon, the Knicks have now matched their win total from last season (37) while the Dallas Mavericks have matched their loss total (30).
In other words, Brunson’s new squad is headed in the right direction while his former teammates are trending downward.
The Knicks are now the fifth-best team in the East and firmly in the playoff race.
Brunson is at the center of it all with an average of 23.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.
That’s a pretty substantial step up from last season’s 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.
Although the Mavericks now sit at 32-31, they are still the seventh team in the West, which isn’t great although not as bad as it could be.
They haven’t been totaling a bunch of wins after landing Kyrie Irving as many fans anticipated.
That means their journey to the postseason will remain challenging, even with one of the most talked-about backcourts in the league.
Fans of the Knicks are elated right now while followers of the Mavs are supremely nervous.
If the Knicks make the playoffs, it’ll partly be because of Brunson, who has officially become a New York hero.
