The NBA Draft is right around the corner but the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder aren’t waiting around to make some moves.

The two teams created a trade today that sets them up well for the offseason and gives both of their fanbases hope for the future.

ESPN Sources: Denver is trading F JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first-round pick to Oklahoma City for the No. 30 pick in this month’s NBA Draft and two future second-round picks. Nuggets have No. 21 and 30 in this draft now and Thunder has Nos. 2, 12 and 34.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Nuggets are trading forward JaMychal Green and a 2027 first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

For the trade, the Nuggets will get the number 30 pick in the upcoming draft as well as two future second-round picks.

This trade now means that Nuggs have the 21st and 30th picks in the upcoming draft while the Thunder have the 2nd, 12th, and 34th.

These teams have worked hard to be all over the draft – will it all pan out for them?

Big Picks

It feels like it’s been a few years of the Thunder consistently making trades to get more and more draft picks.

That’s all been part of the plan to slowly build the team back into playoff contention.

They’re getting better and better and are one of the youngest teams in the league.

But they’re not done yet: this year’s draft promises to bring them some decent rookies.

However, it remains to be seen if the Thunder will keep those rookies or trade them away and continue their rebuilding process.

As for the Nuggets, they have been falling short for a few seasons now.

Even with two-time MVP Nikola Jokic, Denver needs more.

Is this trade going to help them become even better and more capable of going far in the playoffs?

Or will it just acquire more pieces that they’ll trade away?

This time of year is interesting for NBA fans because of all the moving pieces and possibilities.
