After years and years of showing his dedication to the Washington Wizards, it appears star guard Bradley Beal and the struggling franchise are finally ready to part ways.
Although Beal has been adamant about his loyalty to the Wizards and wanting to win in the nation’s capital, the two sides seem motivated to find a trade that benefits both sides only one year after signing a lucrative five-year contract extension.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, trade scenarios will be discussed between Beal and the Wizards brass, as he has a no-trade clause in his deal with the team, which means he’ll be able to control his fate moving forward.
After completing first season of a five-year, $251M contract, Beal’s unique standing as NBA’s only current player to have a no-trade clause negotiated into his deal gives him the ability to control not only possible destinations, but how a potential package to acquire Beal… https://t.co/KxVnTQHdlW

With Beal having a massive contract and not exactly being among the league’s elite players in the league today, it may be difficult for the Wizards to find a suitable trade package that the veteran guard will agree to before the start of next season.
There’s no doubt that Beal is an intriguing trade prospect for teams around the league that want to compete for a title, but he comes at a high price, and that might not be a price teams are willing to pay for a non-superstar that is often injured.
The Milwaukee Bucks are a team that may be interested in Beal’s services, but the team has plenty of other contracts to sort out, with Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez at the top of their list of priorities.
More teams will likely emerge with interest in Beal, making this one of the more intriguing storylines with NBA free agency right around the corner.
