The NBA has responded to the actions of Kelly Oubre Jr. and Nick Nurse after they both confronted referees during a game earlier this week.
On Friday morning, the league announced that Nurse and Oubre were fined $50,000 for their actions in Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Nurse was fined for “aggressively pursuing and verbally abusing game officials,” while Oubre received his fine for “verbally abusing and directing an obscene gesture toward game officials.”

At the end of the 108-107 loss to the Clippers, a jump ball was thrown at the center of the court with just five seconds left.
The Sixers had the ball and Oubre then drove into Paul George.
After the refs didn’t blow a whistle in Oubre’s favor, both he and Nurse were obviously very livid and started shouting at the refs for what they considered a missed call.
Following the game, Oubre apologized for his actions and said he didn’t want to lose his cool.
However, matters were made worse later when the league said a call was missed and Oubre should have drawn a foul after running into George.
But the damage had already been done and the Sixers are still fighting to stay in playoff contention.
They are currently the eighth seed in the East with a 39-34 record.
Months ago, they were seen as true playoff contenders but the loss of Joel Embiid really hurt them and they have unsurprisingly struggled since his departure.
If the postseason started today, they would qualify for the Play-In Tournament, battling against the Miami Heat.
There is still hope that Embiid comes back before the Play-In, a move that would greatly help their chances.
Until then, the 76ers will continue to play hard but emotions might remain high.
