Fans of the Philadelphia 76ers let James Harden hear it on Wednesday night.
For the first time this season, Harden was back in Philly with his new team, the Los Angeles Clippers.
Because of his messy departure from the Sixers just months ago, loyal fans showered Harden with boos throughout the game.
But according to the ten-time All-Star, the fans don’t truly understand why they have such hard feelings about him.
“They probably don’t know why they were booing,” Harden said, according to Law Murray of The Athletic.
The city of Philadelphia does not need a reason to boo you.
But James Harden definitely supplied reasons.@LawMurrayTheNU on Harden having the last word at the end of his return to the City of Brotherly Love ⤵️https://t.co/GH5k3GJDvM pic.twitter.com/KrcwcUeTYw

There seems to be a lot left unsaid about what went down between Harden and 76ers president Daryl Morey last summer.
According to Harden, Morey said some lies about a possible max contract.
Harden feels he wasn’t respected and didn’t want to play for someone he considered a liar.
Many people criticized the way that Harden handled the whole situation, saying that he was publicly nasty when he didn’t have to be.
He did indeed pursue a “scorched Earth” policy when it came to his trade demands.
However, in the end, it all worked out for him.
Additionally, other stories have come out about Morey since Harden’s exit from Philadelphia.
For example, Chris Paul has publicly said that he was lied to by Morey years ago as well.
Regardless of all that, the fans in Philadelphia aren’t fond of Harden and will likely make him well aware of that for years to come.
This isn’t the first time that Harden’s actions have received a negative backlash and it possibly won’t be the last.
No matter what he says or thinks, Harden will remain a public enemy in Philadelphia for some time.
