Just a couple of weeks ago, Bronny James cracked the top 10 in the NBA Draft Class of 2024.
Now, the scouting portal On3 has officially deemed him the ninth-best prospect in the nation, finally giving him five-star recruit status.

Notably, this is way higher than his rankings on ESPN (28), 247 Sports (34), and Rivals (43), but he’s now considered the second-best combo guard in his recruiting class.
Needless to say, this news didn’t go unnoticed by LeBron James fans and haters alike, and they shared their thoughts on the situation on Twitter.

On3 is becoming a laughing stock with it's rankings.

He'll go top 5 just cause LeBron wants to play 1 season with him. But is he worth it?

Truth be told, there is a big discrepancy between all these portals, and some feel like LeBron has officially kicked off a PR campaign to raise his son’s stock.
He even tweeted that Bronny was already better than some of the NBA players he watches on League Pass, perhaps taking a page out of LaVar Ball’s book.
However, it’s undeniable that Bronny has put in a lot of work and has impressed plenty of scouts as of late, so he also deserves plenty of credit for breaking out into the scene and proving that he can be way more than just LeBron’s older son.
Bronny is still undecided on his college future, but reports state that he’s considering Ohio State, USC, and Oregon, with the Buckeyes as the oddsmakers’ favorite to get him.
His athleticism, basketball IQ, playmaking, and off-ball defense have become his cover letter, and we can’t wait to see if he’ll be able to carry his old man’s torch at the next level.
