There always seems to be some noise about the star players in the NBA.
With so much player mobility in the sport, if a player is not happy somewhere he will easily force his way out.
One player that has been talked about in terms of leaving his current team is Donovan Mitchell.
Mitchell is one of the best players in basketball and a leader of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But, many sources have reported that Mitchell is not long for Cleveland.
Even though he has not publicly stated he wants to leave, that seems to be the overwhelming noise around him.
According to Howard Beck via NBACentral, Beck said: “There’s no doubt he’s leaving once his contract ends.”

Luckily for Cleveland, Mitchell is still under contract through next season with a player option for 2025-26.
But, if the Cavs know Mitchell is going to leave it may make sense to trade him before then.
That is why his name has been mentioned as a potential trade target this upcoming offseason.
One team that will be interested is the Los Angeles Lakers.
But, they will have to pay a premium to land Mitchell.
It would be odd for Mitchell to want to leave Cleveland, as he has played the best basketball of his career as a Cav.
Also, the Eastern Conference is weak, giving him a better chance of making the Finals.
You can bet the Cavaliers’ results this season will factor into Mitchell’s status.
If they go far in the playoffs, he will most likely remain.
But, a first-round exit could have Mitchell and the Cavs looking to make a move.
