They had a rough start to the season, but the Cleveland Cavaliers are easily one of the best teams in the league right now.
They are the second seed in the Eastern Conference and are sitting with a 34-16 record.
The Cavaliers have been seemingly unstoppable over the last 17 games, as they have scored a 16-1 record.
According to Hoop Central, Donovan Mitchell has averaged 29.3 points, 7.1 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game during that time.
He has done all of this on a 50% field-goal percentage.

While Mitchell isn’t the only reason the Cavaliers are thriving, he’s definitely a major part of it.
Fans of the team came out in droves to support Mitchell and the Cavaliers online Friday morning.
“My god this team might just win it all,” one Twitter user said, echoing the same hopes that many fans are holding onto right now.

Other people said that Mitchell’s run is even more impressive than what LeBron James did when he played in Cleveland because the Eastern Conference is more difficult than it was back then.
Doing this in a stacked east, unlike lebron

There were others who wanted to celebrate both Mitchell and Max Strus, who have been working magically together throughout the season, especially when Darius Garland was on the sidelines for weeks because of an injury.
Him and Max strus are an extremely underrated backcourt 😉

Although many people are riding high on the Cavaliers right now, others are fearful that the team will have another great regular season and a troubled, short playoff run.
Last season, they were able to make it into the postseason but they got pushed out of the first round by the New York Knicks after some truly clunky performances.

When the season started, few people thought the Cavaliers would be doing this well but they have impressed just about everyone.
Can they keep it up and can Mitchell continue to play like this?
