The Los Angeles Lakers look much better now.
Rob Pelinka did wonders at the trade deadline, flipping the team’s assets to revamp their roster and surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with the kind of players they need to thrive.
Notably, it didn’t take a lot of time before this new squad meshed perfectly, and it seems like they’ve been together for years now.
That’s why even the doubters are no longer skeptical, and given the current picture in the Western Conference, no one would be shocked to see them go the distance.
That includes NBA analyst Jay Williams, who officially apologized to the Lakers for doubting them.
Williams pointed out that with Ja Morant away from the Memphis Grizzlies due to his gun-related incident, there’s no reason to believe the Lakers can’t pull off an upset against them if they make the playoffs.

He also pointed out that the young Sacramento Kings lack the playoff experience to make us think that they can be a legit threat to come out of the West, once again paving the way for the Lakers to make it to the Western Conference Finals at least.
The Lakers went 2-0 with their new players and LeBron James on the court, winning those games by an average of 15.5 points.
They continue to look good even without their best player on the floor, so one can only wonder how far they can get once James is back to full strength and pulling the strings of their offense.
