The NFL never gets boring because of its endless plot twists.
Every week, there will be an outcome that will leave your jaw open because of disbelief.
It’s challenging to ponder how the final score came to be, but that’s why nothing can match the drama that football brings.
That said, Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season had its fair share of surprising outcomes.
Here are the games that will make you look at the box score twice to verify if what you saw was correct.
3. Dallas Destroys The Washington Football Team
It’s not surprising that the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys defeated a team four games behind them in the standings.
However, your eyeballs will dilate after seeing how much Dallas scored.
Before the game, Amari Cooper ranted that their offense wasn’t as explosive as it could be.
The entire unit responded and dropped 42 first-half points against their division rival.
They finished with 56 points which is the most they’ve scored in a single game since Week 6 of the 1980 NFL season.

That victory kept the Cowboys undefeated in five games against the other NFC East squads this year.
Dak Prescott threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns, while Cooper Rush also had one scoring pass.
What’s more impressive is that their touchdown passes went to five different receivers.
Cooper led the way with 85 yards while Dalton Schultz and Malik Turner had 82 yards apiece.
This win also helped the Cowboys clinch their division for the second time in four years.
2. Indianapolis Colts Edge The Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals did not have DeAndre Hopkins and James Conner coming into the game.
Still, they were the favorites to win because they were playing at home.
Unfortunately, the Indianapolis Colts are in a fantastic groove as of late, thanks to the explosive performances of Jonathan Taylor.
His recent output must make him part of the Most Valuable Player conversation because he has missed the 100-yard mark just once over their last seven games.

He punished the Cardinals for 108 rushing yards while Carson Wentz threw two touchdowns.
It wasn’t a high-scoring game, but Frank Reich’s squad did enough to win against Arizona.
While the Cardinals lost their NFC West lead to the Los Angeles Rams, other results across the league helped them clinch their first playoff berth since 2015.
Meanwhile, the victory kept Indianapolis in striking distance with the Tennessee Titans for the AFC South crown.
1. Houston Texans Upset The Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers had a chance to solidify their stake for an AFC playoff ticket.
Ideally, it would be easy for them to defeat a Houston Texans squad that won thrice in 14 games.
Unfortunately, the inconsistencies for the Chargers continued as the Texans pulled off the upset at home, 41-29.
Rex Burkhead powered Houston’s run game with 149 yards while quarterback Davis Mills threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

It’s the first win streak for the Texans, who improved to 4-11 this season.
Sadly, the loss pushed the Chargers out of the seven postseason spots.
They are in eighth place with an 8-7 record, and the Baltimore Ravens hold the final Wild Card slot due to a tiebreaker.
The Chargers must win against the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders in their final regular-season games if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
