This season has been a bit of a mixed bag for Moses Moody.
The Golden State Warriors star is averaging 7.9 points and 3 rebounds per game and has sometimes been a very important part of the team’s second unit.
At other times, he has failed to get many minutes and has been forced to sit on the bench as the team fights on without him.
Speaking with Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Moody opened up about his fluctuating role with the team.
“All my friends are in that space where they’re leaving college, trying to figure out life. Everybody’s going through different adversities. Who am I to think I should have an easy road to whatever I want?” Moody said.

That is a good and healthy perspective for Moody, who is on the floor for a career-high 17.1 minutes per game this year.
Head coach Steve Kerr hasn’t relied on Moody like he has other young players like Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski.
However, it sounds like the 21-year-old Moody has made peace with that fact and is willing to do whatever the team needs.
Some players could be obsessed with their role in the lineup, demanding more minutes and a bigger part of the rotation.
But Moody knows that the Warriors have a slew of great talent and Kerr has to make his choices carefully and with great consideration.
For the good of the team, Moody won’t always get to shine as bright as others and that’s something he has to accept.
On Thursday night, Moody was selected as a starter and contributed 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block.
He isn’t sure what the future holds for him and he isn’t even sure what the next game will look like.
But Moody will show up and play hard no matter what his team asks of him.
