Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have reached a major agreement.
On Thursday, the two sides agreed on a deal to increase player marketing through league and third-party sponsorships.
This agreement gives MLB the right to grant its partners and advertisers use of MLB players in groups for ads and promotions.
The new agreement will help increase player rights usage through “a more streamlined process” for sponsorships.
On Twitter, the communications department for the Players Association announced the news and posted a statement to brief fans on the new development and what it means for the players and the league going forward.

In the statement, the Players Association revealed that prior to this agreement, sponsors were forced to negotiate separate agreements with the league and union to have the same rights.
This gives partners an easier way to market their national promotions and give players and the union the same rights.
This is a major step forward for MLB, which has sought to improve its relationship with the Players Association in recent years, especially since the conclusion of the 99-day lockout that lasted from December 2021-March 2022.
Several changes have been made around the league, but this is a major development and it will give the league and players a better opportunity to market themselves and help the game grow.
The game is certainly changing, but MLB is now finding a way to adapt to those changing times and keep up with other major sports in this department.
