It’s nearly impossible to go undefeated in an MLB regular season.
It’s hard enough to finish the first series of the season undefeated.
Baseball is a game of ebbs and flows where the unthinkable tends to happen.
But after the first series of the 2022 MLB regular season, there is one team that remains undefeated, the team that always seems to fly under the radar and surprise people.
The team in question is the Tampa Bay Rays, who even after trading away outfielder Austin Meadows, took it straight to the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend, sweeping their division rival and starting off the 2022 regular season 3-0.
Though the first weekend of the baseball season, with each team having played just one series, there is only one undefeated team. Yes, the Rays.

Rays Keep Trucking Along
Should this be a surprise to anyone?
The answer is no.
It may be early in the season, but it always seems like the Rays just find a way to dominate everybody else.
This team is often overlooked because when you look at the roster, there aren’t a whole lot of superstars, save for Wander Franco, Tyler Glasnow, and Randy Arozarena.
And after shipping off their superstars via trade, they still find a way to be one of the best teams in all of baseball.
How they do it is still a mystery to many, but at this point, it would be ill-advised to bet against Tampa Bay, even amongst teams such as the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, and New York Yankees.
Now, it should be noted that they were only playing the Orioles this weekend, who figure to be headed for another finish in the cellar of the AL East.
But still, Tampa Bay is an elite ballclub that knows how to win and can compete with the best in the business, and they should never be counted out.
