Eric Hosmer is making friends fast in the Windy City after the Chicago Cubs signed him to a one-year deal.
While the first baseman and the Cubs were in contract talks, a tweet by Bleacher Nation on Tuesday asked some questions about him.
The question was about Hosmer and if he was a bad clubhouse guy.
I keep seeing tweets about Hosmer being a bad clubhouse guy, but I thought I remembered hearing he was a great glue guy over the years, & a good veteran leader. Was there a story I missed? Current front office has said they want to be EXTREMELY thoughtful about clubhouse culture.

With them knowing that the Cubs front office wants a positive clubhouse culture, they ask why people are tweeting negative things about Hosmer.
On Wednesday morning, starting pitcher Marcus Stroman came to Hosmer’s defense.
In his response on Twitter, Stroman calls the first baseman an “unbelievable human being.”
He’s an unbelievable human being. Articles written by biased media members incorporating only their own perspective should never been seen as credible. It’s how the industry operates and feeds their gullible fanbase. No facts…just opinions from these lame media members.

He then went to call the media “biased.”
However, he continues by telling people “it’s how the industry operates and feeds their gullible fanbase.”
The passionate tweet from him came before the official news of Hosmer’s signing was made public.
While this is the first time the two players are on the same team, it didn’t stop Stroman from defending his new teammate.
He knows the first baseman from his time facing him during his career.
The two have faced each other in seven games, with Hosmer having 20 career plate appearances against Stroman.
It was during those seven games that Stroman got a feel for who the first baseman is as a person.
Despite the negative things online about his new teammate, he sets the record straight.
With Hosmer being a Cub for less than a day, he’s already finding a great friend and teammate in Marcus Stroman.
