MLB and Apple TV+ reached an agreement before the season that gave the latter rights to stream several games every Friday.
As a result, both the New York Yankees – Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals – Los Angeles Dodgers will be available only on Apple TV+ and not on national or regional networks.
It’s the way it works: there is an agreement in place and it should be respected if the two companies can’t work out a trade of some sort.
Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is chasing Roger Maris‘ 61 home runs: he is currently at 60.
On the other hand, Cardinals legend Albert Pujols is two homers away from joining the exclusive 700-homer club, which only has Babe Ruth, Henry Aaron, and Barry Bonds.
MLB Is Respecting Its Commitment To Apple TV+
There is a technological barrier preventing some people to enjoy the games because they don’t know how to stream, but MLB is respecting its commitment to Apple TV+ and hyping the game on Twitter.
“#AaronJudge & #AlbertPujols chase history tonight, FREE on @AppleTVPlus. Will they homer tonight?,” the league’s official Twitter account wrote.

It’s important to point out that the games, both of them, will be free to watch on Apple TV+.
In fact, MLB posted a how-to guide to stream the games and not miss out the action.
Again, not everybody is a friend of technology, so plenty of people could potentially miss out on history being made.
Apple TV+ won’t allow any live look-ins at Judge’s at-bats: to watch the historic moment (if it happens, that is), one needs to sign in with an Apple ID.
There is no need to own an Apple device, though.
