Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout knows he is among MLB’s best players.
Denying it would be silly, with everything he has done for the sport.
He was recently asked about the best outfielders in the game, and his answer pretty much certifies that he knows about baseball.
“Mike Trout lists his Mount Rushmore of current MLB outfielders: Himself, Aaron Judge, Mookie Betts, Bryce Harper,” Talkin’ Baseball tweeted on Friday.

That’s actually quite a group, huh?
You could certainly make an argument that Juan Soto, Yordan Alvarez, and Ronald Acuna Jr. could be up there.
A Pretty Solid Outfield
But he can only pick four and wasn’t going to leave himself out.
Harper, Judge, and Betts are solid choices.
Everybody is witnessing what Judge is currently doing with the New York Yankees.
He has 60 home runs and is two away from establishing a new record in the American League while contending for the Triple Crown.
Harper has lost a lot of time with a fractured thumb, but returned with a bang and is slashing .290/.366/.530 with 17 home runs and 374 plate appearances in 2022, leading the Phillies in their quest for the playoffs.
Betts would be a legitimate candidate for the NL MVP award if it wasn’t for Paul Goldschmidt, and is slashing .272/.342/.547 with a career-high 35 home runs.
We wouldn’t argue against Trout, perhaps the best player of our generation and one of the best in history.
Most of those names, including himself, are actually going to represent the United States in next year’s World Baseball Classic.
It should be a fun tournament, as Team USA will try to defend the title they earned in the last edition of the Classic, in 2017.
