The Chicago Cubs have had a difficult season.
They have shown flashes of their potential and have even been close in the NL Central at various points this season.
However, they find themselves 8.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers and seven games below the .500 mark.
Even after adding Dansby Swanson, Trey Mancini, and Cody Bellinger, the Cubs appear to be a team that is prepared to sell at the deadline.
MLB writer Jon Heyman certainly thinks the Cubs are going to be sellers this year.
On MLB Network, Heyman discussed what the Cubs’ trade deadline strategy may be this year after a disappointing start to the season.

Heyman predicted that Marcus Stroman could be of interest to certain teams this year at the deadline.
The veteran right-hander has an opt-out clause in his contract and may exercise it to become a free agent.
However, Heyman notes that the opt-out could potentially limit his value despite him having a strong season.
Cody Bellinger is another player that could be on the move at the deadline.
After a few down seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Bellinger appears to have rediscovered his old form with the Cubs.
He is hitting .305 with 12 home runs, 35 RBI, and an .884 OPS.
Heyman listed catcher Yan Gomes and pitchers Kyle Hendricks and Drew Smyly as potential trade pieces as well.
As things stand right now, the Cubs appear to be headed for the sellers market at the trade deadline, and Heyman believes that this is their most likely path.
