Last season, the Baltimore Orioles officially emerged as a strong postseason contender.
However, instead of adding at the trade deadline, they chose to sell off a few pieces, with first baseman and outfielder Trey Mancini being one of them.
Mancini was dealt to the Houston Astros, and he ultimately helped them capture another World Series title.
The veteran slugger is now with the Chicago Cubs.
Mancini may not be on the move this year, but he certainly understands what it’s like to be traded to a new team in the middle of a season.
On Tuesday, Mancini stopped by the MLB podcast “Foul Territory” to discuss what it was like being traded from Baltimore to Houston.

Mancini said it was ultimately tough for him to leave Baltimore.
The current Cubs slugger stated that the hardest part was leaving a place he had been for 10 years and that the issue was not that he didn’t want to go to a new place, but rather that it was tough to close the chapter on Baltimore.
Mancini reflected on his time in Baltimore, recalling that he felt very established thanks to having such a key role in the organization.
He said that it was also tough for him to get acclimated in Houston, as it took him a little bit of time to get to know everybody and learn the ropes of the organization.
However, Mancini had nothing but positive things to say about his time in Houston, stating that he fit in quite well and enjoyed his teammates.
