Mike Vrabel Is Rumored To Have Interest In Notable NFL Job

Plenty of head coaching jobs were available in the NFL this past offseason.

Although former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel was believed to be among the most sought-after candidates, he took on a consulting role with the Cleveland Browns this season.

All signs point to him trying again this upcoming offseason, and he is now rumored to be interested in one interesting potential job opening.

The Athletic’s Chad Graff shared that all signs point to Vrabel’s interest in the New England Patriots head coaching job, although it’s unclear if it will be available.

The Patriots have hinted that head coach Jerod Mayo will still be the team’s coach next season and isn’t be axed despite the team’s disastrous 3-13 campaign.

The years immediately following the departure of Bill Belichick were always going to be rocky.

However, this franchise has found its next young quarterback in Drake Maye, though there is little talent around him now.

This article is more of an idea than an actual rumor, as many fans and insiders have seen Vrabel as the ideal successor to Belichick for years due to their obvious ties to one another.

The reality is that it’s too soon to judge Mayo on his performance, given how bad this roster is, but he at least likely has a short leash heading into next season.

Vrabel to the Pats would be fun, but it’s disingenuous to Mayo to be so frivolous with rumors like this when the Patriots have stood by Mayo the entire time he has been the coach.
