Amidst their long and dreadful 14-game losing skid, the Los Angeles Angels lost Mike Trout for a couple of days due to a groin injury.
The Angels have now been without their star outfielder for three consecutive games.
Though the losing skid has finally been snapped, there are some question marks surrounding Trout and when he will return.
But it looks as if the Angels aren’t going to have to wait that much longer to get their slugger back.
Angels insider Jeff Fletcher tweeted an update about Trout, saying that his plan is to play tonight in their series opener against the New York Mets, but that he wants to see how he feels first.
Mike Trout said he feels better. He said he’s going to see how he feels tomorrow and if he feels good his plan is to play. #Angels

Trout Close To Returning
This is good news for Los Angeles.
The epic losing streak is over, and they finally have a little more clarity on the Trout situation.
Losing him for a few days certainly hurt them quite a bit, but it looks as though he will be back soon, if not tonight.
The 30-year-old slugger is having a good year at the plate, hitting .284 with 14 home runs, 30 RBI, and a .989 OPS.
Having him back will give their lineup a much-needed boost as they prepare to take on the best team in the National League.
It’s certainly going to be a tall order for the Angels to try and beat the Mets, but with Trout back, their chances are better, assuming tonight is the night he ultimately makes it back.
Regardless, it looks like Trout will indeed be back soon, which will give the Angels a little extra push as they look to build off of their big win last night over the Boston Red Sox
