There have been a lot of headlines in the sports world over the past several days, making big news somewhat challenging to keep track of.
Several NFL teams have fired their head coaches and coordinators, which has been a primary story.
Not to be lost in the shuffle was Nick Saban, who has announced his retirement from the University of Alabama.
Saban has been a staple in the college football community for decades, so this retirement shocked many fans and analysts.
Several personalities, including Mike Greenberg of ESPN, took to Twitter to express their appreciation for Saban throughout the years.
Greenberg called Saban “the greatest coach in the history of college football,” saying “there’ll never be another” like him.
Nick Saban is the greatest coach in the history of college football. And at his age, he didn’t need to put up with the utter nonsense the sport has become. Congratulations Coach, there’ll never be another like you.

When looking at Saban’s overall record as a head coach between Toledo, Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama, it might be tough to disagree with Greenberg.
Saban’s career winning percentage is .806, winning 292 total games.
While he only has the sixth-most wins of any college coach of all time, his national championship numbers seem to put him over the edge.
Saban’s seven championships are the most in college football history, edging out Bear Bryant, who amassed six championships as a head coach.
This is the end of an era that will not soon be forgotten.
Replacing a coach with Saban’s legacy will be a big task for the university, as the new head coach will have a lot of built-in pressure.
They cannot be expected to reach Saban’s levels of greatness, but it will loom over their head, hoping to at least continue to instill the team’s winning culture.
