The Los Angeles Rams are inching closer to the playoffs.
That seemed impossible earlier in the season, but they’ve done it again.
They stayed alive after winning a close and ugly game with the Arizona Cardinals.
That’s why, following the win, Mike Greenberg and the NFL on ESPN crew debated whether Sean McVay deserved some consideration for Coach of the Year.

Notably, they were all in agreement.
They pointed out that he managed to do this despite losing a Hall of Famer defensive lineman like Aaron Donald.
They praised him and the GM for their ability to find and develop talent, not to mention that they’ve won in various ways.
McVay hasn’t been around as a head coach for long, yet he already has his own coaching tree.
It seems like everybody who works for him finds a job somewhere else, and that speaks volumes not only about his ability to identify great talent to surround himself with but also about how he empowers them.
McVay has proven to be a savvy football mind.
He knows when to be aggressive and when not to take risks.
He knows how to win the shootouts or the old-school slugfests.
He knows how to uplift his players and make the most of the hand he’s been given.
The Rams might not be as good as they were in years past, which is normal, given their roster.
But with McVay at the helm, they will always be dangerous.
