Followers of the Brooklyn Nets weren’t sure what their future would look like after losing both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
The loss of those two stars could have torpedoed any chances of the postseason and could have started a very long, painful rebuilding process.
While the team has certainly suffered a few big defeats since Irving and Durant left, there have been some breakout stars in their absence.
One of those stars is Mikal Bridges, formerly of the Phoenix Suns.
ClutchPoints noted that during his last seven games, Bridges has scored 30+ points in four games for the Nets.
He has also had back-to-back 30-point games for the first time in his career and is averaging 29.3 points per game.

Die-hard fans of the Suns were very disappointed to see Bridges leave for Brooklyn and now everyone can see why.
He is averaging 18.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists a game so far this season.
He was putting up 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists a game during his first few months with the Suns.
But since coming to Brooklyn, Bridges has averaged 26.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
He has become a leader on his new team and has been red-hot for multiple games.
One of those 30-point games was against the Boston Celtics when the Nets were able to secure the biggest comeback of the season and win by 10 points.
The Nets are a long way from being championship contenders and a lot could change about the team in the near future.
But it’s become clear that fans want Bridges to stick around following his first few weeks with the team.
