The NFL Combine and Pro Days are the last two major events for prospects to showcase their skills to their new potential teams.
While this is an exciting time for fans and analysts as it gives them something to talk about in the offseason, it’s also exciting for the players.
Playing in the NFL is a lifelong dream for them, and when given the opportunity, these prospects want to make the most of it.
This was put on full display during a recent conversation between Michael Penix Jr. and ESPN’s Molly McGrath after his Pro Day.
Penix spoke about his future in the NFL and what a team would get from him should they draft him.
“They’re going to get a guy that’s going to help lift the team up,” Penix said, adding, “They’re going to get a winner.”

Penix illustrated that he can help elevate the players around him, something he did especially well during his final season at Washington.
While they didn’t win the national title, Penix did help Washington reach the College Football Playoff, a feat that raised his draft stock.
He seems to have a lot of confidence in himself and his ability to perform on the football field, something that is paramount for prospects entering the NFL.
If players are timid or unsure about themself, it can often lead to mixed results.
It will be interesting to see where Penix ends up and what round he’ll be drafted in.
Some project him to be a first-round pick, while other analysts have indicated he will fall to the second round.
