The San Francisco 49ers are in the midst of a contract battle with one of their best players.
Brandon Aiyuk has yet to sign a long-term deal with the team, which has caused some conflict that is starting to rise to the surface.
Aiyuk recently posted a few cryptic emojis to Instagram, seemingly about this situation.
After seeing this situation play out, Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson had Aiyuk on their podcast to discuss things.
“I’m trying to get what I deserve. I feel like, this season, playing football, I figured out who I was as a person, as a player,” Aiyuk said.

Aiyuk seems to understand his value to the 49ers and hopes they can come to an agreement that aligns with the level of play he brings to this team.
He finished the 2023 regular season with 1,342 receiving yards, which was a career-high for him.
Aiyuk also added seven touchdowns throughout the year and continued his dominance into the postseason.
In fact, Aiyuk was one of the main reasons the 49ers beat the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round, making a few big plays in clutch moments.
Many talk about Aiyuk as a top-12 receiver in the league, yet the 49ers haven’t materialized this hype into a tangible contract.
The 49ers have several contract decisions to make over the next few years, and if they aren’t careful, they could lose some of their most valuable players.
Plus, with Brock Purdy still on his inexpensive rookie contract, the team, in theory, should be able to sign players like Aiyuk.
