The Dallas Cowboys headed into their showdown with the division rival New York Giants on Sunday night with high hopes of making a strong statement that the team is for real this season, especially on the defensive side of the football.
It didn’t take long for the Cowboys to impose their will and show how dominant they can be defensively, as Dallas absolutely destroyed the Giants from start to finish, with Micah Parsons and company stealing the show.
Along with being incredibly dominant defensively, the Cowboys refused to let up even when the game was in hand, as Dallas kept their foot on the gas pedal all night long to make the statement that they intended to do.
In the aftermath of the Cowboys beating the Giants by a 40-0 final in the season opener, Parsons blasted the Giants coaching staff for not protecting starting quarterback Daniel Jones, who they kept in the game even though New York had no chance of making a comeback, especially as the weather got worse, via Bleacher Report.

Parsons has a point, especially when he compares it to other situations around the league on Sunday, like the Cincinnati Bengals with Joe Burrow.
The Bengals couldn’t get it going against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, with Burrow struggling the entire game, leading him to pass for a career-low 82 yards.
That led to the Bengals taking him out, unlike the Giants, who insisted on keeping Jones in the game and risking injury, which could’ve derailed the season if he suffered a significant injury.
