The Dallas Cowboys started their 2023 season in blowout fashion.
In the first Sunday Night Football game of the year, the Cowboys beat the New York Giants 40-0.
While this was encouraging for many fans, Stephen A. Smith quickly reserved his enthusiasm.
In a segment of “Get Up,” Smith said, “We’ve seen this before.”

He added, “It’s early, go ahead and get your hopes up.”
Smith has heard all of the hype surrounding the Cowboys after this victory but doesn’t believe it will last long.
In this conversation with his “Get Up” counterparts, Smith laughed at their analysis of the Cowboys.
Many pundits across the league have already referred to the Cowboys as the best defense in the league, including Rex Ryan.
Smith did not share too much of his thoughts as he wanted to keep the audience on their toes.
But, if his comments were any indication, he is ready to tear up the Cowboys in the coming weeks.
The Giants might have made it to the playoffs last year, but many believe this blowout wasn’t just because of the Cowboys’ dominance.
Several analysts are under the impression that the Giants will regress significantly this season, and this game was a small example of that.
The Cowboys’ next three games are against the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, and New England Patriots.
While the Cardinals might not be a difficult challenge, the Patriots and Jets should be.
Will Smith’s prediction come true, that the Cowboys’ Week 1 accomplishment will soon come crashing down?
