From 2014 to 2016, the New York Mets employed starting pitcher Bartolo Colon.
He was actually part of the roster when the Mets made the 2015 World Series.
There, he pitched three games and had a perfect 0.00 ERA.
On the mound, he was a perfectly solid starter in an era in which the Mets had a lot of talent in the rotation: Matt Harvey, Zack Wheeler, Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz, and others.
With the Mets, Colon pitched 588.2 innings (almost 200 per season) with a very good 3.90 ERA.
He became something more than a good player in Queens, though.
He became a folk hero, with one of the coolest nicknames you will ever hear in baseball: “Big Sexy.”
After 2016, Colon pitched for a few more seasons on teams such as the Atlanta Braves, the Minnesota Twins, and the Texas Rangers.
He probably didn’t find the love of a fanbase like he did at Citi Field, though.
That’s why the Mets will be celebrating him on Sunday with a cool giveaway, according to MLB Life.

The design is very cool and, well, anything with a Bartolo Colon picture and the words “Big Sexy” on it will look fantastic.
Fans will surely return home with a smile on their faces and happily rocking the shirt.
He had unforgettable moments with a Mets uniform, from his crucial outs to his legendary home run off James Shields in 2016.
Colon won a Cy Young, 247 games, and had a 4.12 career ERA in MLB, so he is actually one of the most accomplished pitchers in recent history.
Anything that celebrates him is well received by fans.
