Finally, at long last, the New York Mets are set to welcome Jacob deGrom back to their rotation.
This means that for the first time this year, they will be able to boast a rotation that features Max Scherzer and deGrom together.
This is what Mets fans have been looking forward to ever since Scherzer was signed.
They’ve had to wait a little with deGrom being out for so long, but finally, he’s back.
On Twitter, SNY, the television home of the Mets, posted a perfect meme featuring the Sith Lord Count Dooku saying the line “I’ve been looking forward to this.”

“I’ve Been Looking Forward To This”
We know Dooku’s excited to see deGrom and Scherzer pitching together in the same rotation.
But all jokes aside, this is a big deal for the Mets and their fans.
The signing of Scherzer made them the clear favorites in the National League East at the start of the season.
It meant that they would have perhaps the two best starting pitchers in all of baseball in the same rotation.
With deGrom being out for so long, the Mets have had to wait a long time to boast these two together in the same rotation.
The wait is finally over.
The Mets have been ready to do this since day one, and the fans have been dying to see it.
Now, the Mets have a clear advantage over the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.
They’re already ahead of them by three games.
Look for that lead to potentially expand now that deGrom is back.
The Mets are going to be tough to beat from here on out.
