The pitch clock that was added this year to help speed baseball games up has changed the game drastically.
Some will argue that it has changed for the better, while others may not be huge fans of it.
However, it has changed the game quite a bit.
A pitcher has 15 seconds to throw a pitch and a batter must be in the box with at least eight seconds left on the clock.
On Monday night, Max Scherzer of the Texas Rangers struck out the side against the Los Angeles Angels, but his third strikeout came in unique fashion.
Brandon Drury was not in the box by the time the clock had gone down to eight seconds, resulting in the home plate umpire calling an automatic strike.

This is certainly a weird way to record a strikeout, let alone strike out the side.
However, it worked out quite well for Scherzer.
Drury was not set by the time the clock had counted down to eight seconds.
And so, a violation was called against Drury and Scherzer recorded his third strikeout of the inning to set down the Angels in the top of the first.
When the violation was called, Scherzer flipped the ball behind him as he trotted back to the Rangers dugout.
The Rangers ultimately won by a final score of 12-0, while Scherzer pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit and a walk while fanning 11 Halos batters.
