The Dallas Mavericks had one of the most disappointing seasons in the NBA.
After making the Western Conference Finals in 2022, they failed to reach the playoffs this year.
That is unacceptable for a team with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
One player the Mavericks clearly miss is point guard Jalen Brunson.
He was very good during his tenure as a Maverick but chose to sign with the New York Knicks in free agency.
That was a great move for Brunson and the Knicks as he has played at an All-Star level.
Losing Brunson was a major loss for Dallas, but Mavericks coach Jason Kidd is happy to see him succeed.
As shared on the “All The Smoke” podcast, Kidd was happy to see Brunson get paid and lead his team.
You know J Kidd is proud watching Brunson ball out in the playoffs.
Where does Dallas letting Brunson walk rank among the worst front office decisions ever?

Brunson has been one of the most improved players in the NBA this season.
He went from averaging 16.3 points last season in Dallas to 24.0 points will the Knicks.
Brunson has been one of the major reasons why the Knicks are in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Without him, New York might not even be a playoff team this year.
Even though the Mavericks had hopes of re-signing Brunson this past offseason, he found greener pastures in New York.
Plus, Rick Brunson is an assistant coach for the Knicks, which certainly played a role in Jalen’s signing.
Looking at both the Mavericks and Knicks’ seasons this year, it is clear that Brunson made the right decision to sign with the Knicks.
