The Dallas Mavericks are already hard at work during their summer break.
Their biggest goal is to avoid a repeat of the 2022-23 season when they weren’t even able to make the play-in games despite having the combination of Luka Donic and Kyrie Irving.
There are many thinking that huge changes could be on the horizon for Jason Kidd’s squad.
According to Tim Cato of The Athletic via NBACentral, the team is possibly considering Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns and Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks as possible trade targets.

Both of these players would be big acquisitions for the Mavericks, each coming with their own defined talents.
With Middleton, the Mavs would get a strong shooter who can space the floor, handle the ball, and strengthen the backcourt.
He averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 2022-23, on 43.6% from the floor.
However, he only played in 33 games and past injuries should be considered with Middleton.
The possibility of Ayton in Dallas will make fans happy, as he is a talented big man who put up 18 points and 10 boards this year.
Many devoted Mavericks followers believe the team is painfully lacking in the frontcourt and Ayton could assist in that regard.
We don’t know who or what the Mavericks are willing to give up to make adjustments in the summer.
Will they trade away some of the up-and-coming role players?
This next season is considered make-or-break for the Mavericks because the front office is scared that Doncic could request a trade if things don’t get on track.
Therefore, it’s likely the team will do whatever they must to improve the roster as soon as possible.NEXT: Kyrie Irving Made An Interesting Appearance At Recent Playoff Game
