Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks was the odds-on favorite to be MVP according to many betting sites before the 2022-23 season began.
The season is long and there are many games ahead but, so far, Doncic is living up to the hype and surpassing even the biggest expectations.

In fact, Doncic is the first player in NBA history to have 200 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists through the first 6 games of the season.
That’s a huge honor for Doncic, who is intent on taking his team as far as possible following their surprisingly great 2021-22 season.
Doncic Doing Big Things For Dallas
The Mavericks currently have a 3-3 record, which obviously leaves room for improvement.
However, no one can deny how great Doncic is doing.
So far, the Slovenian wonder is putting up 36.7 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists.
The guard has been shooting 50.3% from the field although his three-point skill has decreased and he’s only landing 22.6% of his shots from downtown.
Seeing Doncic get off to such a stellar start isn’t surprising – he was looking ready to play and play very hard all summer long.
People have commented on his physicality and in-shape appearance.
The days of Doncic entering the season looking pudgy and out of shape are a thing of the past.
While he might win his first MVP trophy if he keeps playing like this, Doncic is most focused on getting his team back to the Western Conference Finals, and beyond.
He wants to make the NBA Finals for the first time in his career.
If he does, it’ll be because the rest of his team also plays with the same fire and enthusiasm he has.
