The Kyrie Irving era began for the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
Irving, who was just traded from the Brooklyn Nets a couple of days before, suited up for the Mavs for the first time as they faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers.
In the end, Dallas was victorious with a 110-104 win.
And Irving posted 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists during his debut.

In the middle of the game, Luka Doncic gave his opinion on the acquisition of Irving.
“The expectations are bigger now,” Doncic said.
He added: “We just gotta make it work. And I think we will.”
Doncic is currently out with a heel injury but is expected to be back with his team soon.
When he does take to the court, fans of the Mavericks will be eager to see what the one-two punch of him and Irving can do.
Doncic is considered one of the best players in the league, even without Irving, and is in the running for MVP for the first time.
He is regularly producing more than 30 points a night and has broken multiple records for his team.
The problem for Doncic is that the rest of his squad isn’t always capable of playing at the level he needs.
He has been without a player he can truly rely on and produce points alongside for nearly all of his career.
The hope is that Doncic and Irving will work perfectly in tandem and will create the most fearsome backcourt in the league.
Based on his public statements, Irving has made it clear that the Mavericks are still Doncic’s team and he is willing to do whatever is needed to help them succeed.
It’s no wonder that Doncic sounds so excited about having him on board.
