Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is officially out of the EuroBasket competition.
His Slovenian team was eliminated from the tournament after a shocking loss to Poland the other day.
That means that Doncic, who was doing incredible things in the games, will instead begin to focus on the upcoming NBA season.
Doncic’s last game in the EuroBasket tournament was a tough one that saw him dealing with a back injury in the second quarter.
He ended up with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds but that pales in comparison to what he was doing before.

Doncic has never been one to avoid responsibility and he certainly wasn’t following the team’s loss.
When asked about the injury that slowed him down, he was frank: “I wasn’t 100%. I received an injection in the third quarter and I’ve been dealing a lot this EuroBasket.”
He went on: “But today I played terribly, I let my team and my whole country who was supporting us down. That’s on me. I’ve gotta look back on this game and be better.”
This is the sort of attitude and level of commitment we have seen from Doncic again and again during his time in the NBA.
He isn’t comfortable with letting his team down and that could make him MVP.
Doncic’s Disappointment
Doncic has been a much better player over the last few seasons, improving his stat line in a big way.
But he has also become a stronger team leader too, stepping up and accepting more responsibility and understanding his place at the forefront of his crew.
Doncic wants to win and he won’t be happy with anything less than 100% for every single game.
This sort of attitude will be very helpful in the months ahead as the Mavericks attempt to over-perform and impress the rest of the NBA again.
