The Sacramento Kings have been one of the best stories in basketball this season, and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has taken notice.
Kings head coach Mike Brown has had a lot to do with the team’s success, and in James’ eyes, Brown “hands down” deserves to win Coach of the Year honors this season.

James and Brown have history, as the 19-time All-Star played under Brown on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
They’re division rivals today, but it’s clear that James has tons of respect for his former head coach.
The 53-year-old does seem like the current favorite to win Coach of the Year.
He has the Kings in second place in the Western Conference, which is a major accomplishment considering how deep the West is this season.
Moreover, Sacramento is on a 49-win pace, and the team hasn’t won that many games since the 2004-05 season.
The 2005-06 season was the last time the Kings made the playoffs.
Sacramento’s drought has lasted so long that some of its younger fans aren’t old enough to remember the last time the team was in the playoffs.
That’s going to end this season.
Brown deserves a lot of credit for his role in the team’s success, and perhaps the most exciting part for Kings fans is that the squad is seemingly just getting started.
The future is bright for Sacramento and will be for many years.
This is only Brown’s first season with the organization, but if he can help the team make even more progress in the coming years, he may end up sticking around for a long time.
