There are many things to be happy about with this current Sacramento Kings team but one of the best things they have going is Domantas Sabonis.
Since joining the Kings last season, Sabonis has become even better and has helped them surge into second place in the West.
He is also climbing up a very special NBA ranking and is a part of the league’s history alongside some of its greatest legends.
NBA Buzz reported that Sabonis now has 18 triple-doubles for his career, which is the fourth-most of all centers throughout history.
Most triple-doubles by a center in NBA history:
5. Bill Russell – 17
4. Domantas Sabonis – 18
3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 21
2. Wilt Chamberlain – 78
1. Nikola Jokic – 101Sabonis out here climbing the list! 🟪 pic.twitter.com/P8VhlyhQHJ

Sabonis is just one triple-double ahead of Bill Russell and behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 21, Wilt Chamberlain with 78, and Nikola Jokic.
Jokic is far, far ahead of the rest of the pack with an astonishing 101 triple-doubles in his career.
While Sabonis might not ever surpass Jokic, the fact that he is now making NBA history shows just how great a player he is.
For much of his career, Sabonis was playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder and then the Indiana Pacers, earning two All-Star appearances and averaging 13.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
He is now putting up 19 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 7 assists in Sacramento, seemingly more comfortable with this team than he ever has been before.
Sabonis was the talk of many trade rumors during his last few seasons in Indiana with some people saying he could achieve so much with a team that valued him more.
He has found that team and has become a vital part of the squad because of his skills, but also because of his experience.
Sabonis has now scored nine triple-doubles this season – how many more can he have before the year is done?
