There are many questions about the Los Angeles Lakers and the season ahead.
Will LeBron James be able to play at the level he has been lately?
Additionally, will the team actually make the playoffs?
Plus, will Russell Westbrook fit well this year?
But perhaps most importantly, will Anthony Davis stay healthy and contribute to the entire season?
That last question is surrounded by a lot of speculation and, quite frankly, doubt.
Per Yahoo Sports, Anthony Davis has stated that LeBron has “been in his ear” about taking over the team and that people close to AD believe he has “positioned himself” to play a full calendar season. pic.twitter.com/yczJubBlY9

But Davis said that not only is he positioned to play the entire season but that James has “been in his ear” about taking over the reins of the team.
“I went into this summer focusing on strengthening my body,” Davis told Yahoo Sports.
He added: “I have to be on the court and at my best to put us in position to be our best. I’m ready to do that.”
There is a lot riding on Davis’ shoulders in the season ahead and many people, from James to head coach Darvin Ham, are relying on him to be the best version of himself.
Davis Without Damage
It’s not surprising to hear that James has been talking to Davis about leading the team more and taking over the reins.
The superstar player only has a few years left in him before retirement looms and it’s time that the Lakers are not solely led by him.
Davis could definitely be the centerpiece of the Lakers and be the one they look to.
However, people have been calling on him to step up to that role for years and Davis hasn’t made much movement.
Will this be the season that Davis accepts his responsibility at the heart of the Lakers’ roster?
Will he lead the team and remain healthy too?
