As the last season wound down for the Los Angeles Lakers, one thing became very clear: no one on the team (aside from LeBron James) was playing at the peak of their abilities.
That was definitely true for Anthony Davis.
Davis wasn’t horrible last season but he didn’t look or feel like his usual self.
AD on his shooting: “A lot of people don’t know this but since January I was battling a wrist injury … it was tough for me to shoot how I wanted to shoot.” Said it feels “great” now.

Now we know that it was more than fatigue that wore Davis out.
He recently revealed that he was actually suffering from yet another injury for most of the season last year.
“A lot of people don’t know this but since January I was battling a wrist injury,” Davis said.
“It was tough for me to shoot how I wanted to shoot,” he added.
The good news is that Davis said his wrist now feels great and he is ready to go and redeem himself.
Another AD Injury
News about Davis’ secret wrist pain is both good and bad.
It’s good because it’s over and that means that Davis could be even better in the new season.
But it’s bad because this is yet another example of Davis being injury-prone.
The hope is that Davis can stay healthy all season, which would be something that hasn’t happened in a couple of seasons.
Davis has repeatedly admitted that he knows he needs to be better and stronger throughout the entire season.
He said he wants to play more than 80 games this year.
Considering he hasn’t played more than 50 games in two years, that’s a pretty impressive goal.
Lakers fans have gotten used to the idea of Davis missing many games so they are cautiously optimistic that he can keep his wrist – and the rest of his body – strong for the entire 2022-23 season.
