No one will blame you if you’re having a hard time keeping up with all the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets.
Back in June, it was reported that Irving wanted to cut ties with Brooklyn and go play in Los Angeles with LeBron James and the Lakers.
Then he re-signed with the Nets, seemingly putting an end to all that.
However, Kevin Durant then reportedly said he wanted to be traded from the Nets, and the rumors about Irving also leaving the team fired up again; it seemed like he was definitely headed for LA.
Then: radio silence.

Now the latest reports on the soap opera that is the Nets say that not only does Irving want to stay with the Nets, but he also wants to play with them next season regardless of what happens with Durant.
This latest wrinkle in the story changes a lot but what can we really believe?
Confusing Kyrie
The truth is that Irving might really want to stick around in Brooklyn, with or without Durant.
He may have very well decided his future is in Brooklyn.
But even if that’s the truth, it doesn’t mean it’ll happen that way.
The Nets are in charge here and all reporting still suggests that Durant wants to leave, which may lead Brooklyn to also ship off Irving with him.
Brooklyn might decide they want to do away with both stars no matter how they feel about sticking around.
Or they might decide to keep both Durant and Irving, which could end up being awkward but very beneficial to the team’s upcoming season.
We don’t know what to trust anymore but we do know this: Irving and Durant are not calling the shots.
