It was a big deal that the Baltimore Ravens and quarterback Lamar Jackson failed to agree on a contract extension.
Reports revealed that the Ravens’ front office offered more guaranteed money than what Kyler Murray got from the Arizona Cardinals.
However, Jackson wanted a fully-guaranteed deal like what Deshaun Watson got from the Cleveland Browns.
Both parties couldn’t agree, and Jackson has one year left on his contract.
The former Louisville standout is playing on Baltimore’s fifth-year option, giving him a fully-guaranteed $23 million this year.
Jackson will be a free agent after this season, and several teams are expected to bid for his services.
If that’s the case, he is already auditioning by outscoring all but one team.

FOX Sports NFL tweeted a graphic showing that Jackson’s 12 touchdowns are more than what 30 NFL teams have after Week 3.
The former league MVP has thrown ten touchdown passes despite losing Marquise Brown during the offseason.
More importantly, he only has two interceptions and has completed 63.6 percent of his passes.
Jackson also has two rushing touchdowns and 243 yards on the ground.
That number puts him on pace to have another 1,000-yard rushing season, the third of his career.
The NFL Still Hasn’t Figured Out Jackson
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported before the 2021 season that it will be the year the league will figure out Jackson.
But the league hasn’t figured him out since, and it took an ankle injury for the Ravens to miss their first postseason with Jackson as their starter.
Aside from being the same mobile quarterback he is, Jackson has also thrown a touchdown pass to five different receivers.
Another MVP award isn’t out of the question if he continues to play at this pace.
Jackson and the Ravens will try to go to 3-1 when they face the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.
