The Baltimore Ravens have officially locked down their franchise star, extending Lamar Jackson’s contract during the offseason.
Jackson’s career has been heavily debated by analysts, mainly due to the rush-first mentality that he’s demonstrated throughout his tenure.
Even though Jackson is typically seen as a great rusher, there is reason to believe he could pass significantly more in 2023.
One of those reasons is the Ravens’ investment in this offense in the offseason.
They signed Odell Beckham Jr. to give Jackson a veteran who could help the young players on the team.
A recent video from the Ravens’ Twitter account demonstrated the new-found connection between Jackson and Beckham.

In this video, Jackson throws a deep ball to Beckham, who catches it in stride, making it look easy.
While it can be easy for Ravens fans to get excited about this training camp video, the season doesn’t start until September.
The real test for Jackson and Beckham will be for in-game action, which they are heavily preparing for.
Beckham’s durability will also be tested, given he hasn’t seen NFL action since the 2021 Super Bowl.
Will the Ravens adopt more of a pass-first mentality in 2023, something they haven’t done in Jackson’s tenure?
Bringing in Todd Monken as their offensive coordinator could give fans an indication of where the organization’s thoughts are.
Jackson won the league MVP award in 2019 due to his massive rushing totals.
If he combines his rushing prowess with improved passing numbers, there’s no telling what the ceiling could be for the Ravens this season.
